| | Re: Good to the Last Drop-Finished Myron....Thanks for the comments. Doing the clothing to let the figure underneath show through is the secret to a good figure. At least it is to me. Frayed clothing and worn leather is the Old West!
Thomp.....I do the heads separate to allow me to get the best attitude once the piece is painted and mounted on it's base. Just the shift of a 1/8 inch can change the whole feeling of a character or scene.
Thanks again for all the kind comments. |

| | Re: Good to the Last Drop-Finished Lynn,
Thanks for the reply on the head position, i didnt know how else to ask that one other than using your photos for example, and modifying it to show what i was talking about.
I agree the attitude can be changedfrom a slight tilt an arm position, or crossed leggs,
but i dont think my carvings through to that point i guess. and when im done i dont have the nerve to cut off the head to reposition it.
I sure do appricate your instructional replys, and kindness of sharing your methods,
please dont give up now. im on the edege of my seat. |

I would say you do excellent work, but you already know that . You have really captured the old west in your carvings. I enjoyed your website. Hey! How about doin' a carving of HiHo Sliver. We all kind of wonder what he looks like. |
