| | Genes' little guy tutorial G'day All,
Was greatly impressed by Genes' ( "Carving A Simple Small Figure From A Block Of Wood '' A Beginners Tutorial and decided to give it a try. I cut some 1" stock to 12" in length then marked it in 3" sections by saw cuts on all sides. Being as bumblefingered as I am, decided to work on all sections before seperating them, this gave me more material to hang onto while carving |

| | Re: Genes' little guy tutorial I found that using Genes' basic pattern allowed me to alter a bit here and there and create 4 different characters from the same plan. My local woodturning club is in the process of forming a woodcarving club and Gene being the gentleman that he is, gave me the OK to print and laminate his tutorial so the the new club can use it as a teaching aid...
Thanks again Gene |

| | Re: Genes' little guy tutorial Outstanding work gentlemen! I got as far as cutting and pasting Gene's tutorial to an email and sending it to myself and then cutting the 1" stock.... Now I have the impetus (sp?) to get going! No excuses!

| | Re: Genes' little guy tutorial Those turned out great as finished carvings. You know, I have to say I even liked them all stacked up together! It was a little guy totem.
Good job my friend. |
