Default Fun Little Hillbilly to Carve

While working seven 12 hour shifts at the plant at the moment ... I havent had much time on finishing my minature scene .. So to compensate for lost time ... I sat down on graveyards three nights ago and whittled a fun guy that we all like to do when we get bored ...
He's 5 inches high of basswood and done in the somewhat flat plane style ..
These are the kind of guy's that make passing the time somewhat bearable .. You think after working 31 years of graveyards , I would be use to them by now .. Yeah Sure ! I still fight that jet lag feeling ..Any of you retiree's remember those days of night's ? ....

Thanks for letting me show
God Bless
Gene

I'm envious... Great carving and you get to carve while at work. If I had a job like that I'd have probably never retired.

Great carving and painting, I guess that's one of the benefits of the graveyard shift.

gene,
great hillbilly!
looks like it was a lot of fun,
i cant help but giggle sometimes carving some of the little folks i do, with the looks on there faces or predicuments there in ,

i still dont get the flat plane style,
as where to cut and when, where i make rounds and curvs the flat plane makes all flats that slowly contour,

guess ill have to buy a book and sleep next to it so i can asorb the knowledge it through proximety ,,
i looked for scandanavia flat plane through out the internet and theres not much web page information out there

Ahhh, the graveyard shift...

i was on the grave yard shift so long its difficult to do anything in the daylight now, even after over 10 years of retirement. a life of tums or phillips cuz you cant get regulated, and always slepy when the sun is up, yep love it...
