| | Fun Little Guys to Carve When Bored Since I spend most of my life on graveyards .. The scene Iam working on is going slow ... So It is ideal to carve just for enjoyment when everyone else is sleeping ... So here are three fun carvings that are done while sitting around not sleeping .. they are in the flat plane style with only a knife and v -tool ..
A hermit .. a backwoods guy and a Santa .. all of them 3 inches high and done in basswood ..
Gene

| | Re: Fun Little Guys to Carve When Bored Gene, I also like the one with the pipe the best but they are all good. About 30 some years ago I worked in a paper mill in Mass. We had to work a different shift each week. At that time I was doing shadow boxes and carving small cups etc. to put in them.. They use to say they could tell how well my machine was running by the chips by my chair. |

| | Re: Fun Little Guys to Carve When Bored Gene, I have to say that I really love your style of carving. These three guys are a lot of fun and my wife just walked by and said "cute". Guess you get the compliment of the day from her!
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for taking your time when I know you could be resting at work with the long hrs you put in to carve your wonderfull little flat plane guys! Your olde bud,Forrest

| | Re: Fun Little Guys to Carve When Bored Nice job on the little guys..
Hmmmm grave yard, I spent my time at the grave yard also as my father was a Sexton for about 10 years we dug the graves by hand, It was tough in the winter, a fire had to be made to thaw out the ground.
The ground in certain parts of Texas is HARD I did a little metal detecting in the Rio Grande Valley and I didn't do much as the ground was so HARD.
I also worked the midnight shift for about 6yrs in my first life "before retirement"
