Default First flat plane carving

Gene,
I'd like to thank you for the addiction. These were by far the most fun i've had carving, course as soon as i got them painted i lost them to the wife.
I've been showing them to my little hometown carving group and now they want to try and with your instruction, the one i followed, i for see much fun and happy carvers.
Again Gene, thank you for showing the way. I have several more of these in the works and awaiting painting, i just can't seem to put them down.

Thanks Gene, thank you thank you thank you!!!

Micheal, Your flat plane carvings are just right!! I had the pleasure of meeting Gene last summer and his style of carving brings back the originality of whittling. Its really something to watch him make such fine cuts with his knives. You are doing good with your flatplanes, just them coming!

Thumbs up Re: First flat plane carving

Michael .. I appreciate your thanks ..but it is your creative desire that created this ..

Iam honored you have tried this style and yes .. it is fun to do .. and you have done one fine job of carving this way ..

You make me feel honored that I can help in any way to encourage another carver to enjoy this wonderful art ..

I want to help beginners get a start with this type of carving and then move on to more detail or work later after confidence is there .

But just for all around fun carving .. I dont think flat plane can be beat ..
The tools are minimal and the cuts can be learned by anyone with time ..

Thank you so much Michael for your encouragement and God Bless ..

Gene
