Default First attempt at Golf Ball Carving

I carved these the first one with help from a guy who will be showing me how to carve them at the guild meetings and the other one I did using Gene Messer's YT video as a guide.

You did a really good job. Carving golf balls is hard. You can't see the cut after it is done. Here is a web site to see a bunch of golf balls. Maybe it will help you , it did me.

Good luck . Ginny

Thank you Ginny Its on my list of links to save.. My problem at the moment is not knowing enough about carving in general to go from scratch.. Still being new I am still learning the little cuts and ways to cut. Its a slow process with little materials and not really knowing how to use Found wood and not having any power tools.

Im working on it... Not much to go on theres so much I need to learn about basics and only meet with group twice a month and one of those is a day where we are given projects so I dont really get much help there and the other day is when we have free carve and dont want to bother others when they have projects they are doing themselves.

Thank you Gene. Without your YT videos I would probably have not made it past my first piece.
