Default "Fire's Out"

Basswood, acrylic paints, 8" X 4" not accounting for base, finshed it up for this weekends carving show in Niagara Falls Canada.

What I like best about this piece is that its all mine, no pattern or roughout, just started carving a firemans bust and designed it as I went along.

Hope you enjoy, all comments welcomes, good or bad, I appreciate the help and advise from all....Bill

Great design Coffeeman, I love the composition and execution. Even the air bottles are shining just right. Should be a ribbon or two with this one. Congratulations.

Bob

Geeze, where did you find a firehall where the batallion Captain is an axe murderer and collects the severed heads of his subordinates?

Sorry, that the first thing that went through my twisted mind.....other than that, WAY KOOL!

Great piece Coffeeman!! Terrific paint job.

Now that it's all fresh in your head, why not do the complete figure? Give him the day-glo coat with reflective stripes, boots, those tanks on the back, axe in one hand and another piece of firemans gear in the other. Would make a great, colorful looking piece.

Bill magnificent carving I really like how you have thought out of the box on this carving. I think if I were judging it I would have to put it up there in the blue ribbon catagory. Sorry I mean red ribbon you are in entering it in Canada. Any way good luck and again wonderful and very inventive carving.
