Finally getting back to my winter carving project...Men at work.

Here is a roughout I cut this morning. It's going to be the first guy working in the scene. a carpenter sawing a board to length with a hand saw.
Whats a hand saw, some of the younger guys ask?
Well, its one of those old things hanging in dads shop that doesn't have a cord or batteries. The long one with lots of little teeth.
Somebody else was asking about where to get, or how to make a roughout. Make your own is my answer. Draw a rough sketch of what you want, then transfer it to wood...
Off to the band saw, and cut out your future whatever.

Hi Jim, ur off to a good start. You can't beat a carving that was started from a block of wood that you can make anyway you want. Thanks for posting,
