I have carved a bunch of little guys. After a while I get bored with them. Then I see one like yours and get enthused all over again. Great job on that one. Guess what I am carving in the morning?
Thanks for letting us see that one. And as always, Thanks to Gene for starting that trend.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Thanks Feb
What drawed me to the flat plane style was what i thought to be a very simple way of carving but the more i do the flat plane style the more i realize that this a very hard style to get right.Claude i when on your web site and i think i will have to give one of thoses pencil woodspirits a try if you don't mind?

Thumbs up Re: Fat Head

Vic .. Wonderful .. just wonderful .. You did a great job on him and his face is very comical .. he looks like a old fellow with alot on his mind ..

Iam glad you like the larger head style .. it leaves room to get more detail with less wood or height ..

Thanks for the mention .. but Vic all of this is strictly yours and you are doing great ..

Gene

wind song,

don't toot my horn too loud,

my carvings arnt as good as you think,

don't compare yourself to others, as you will do nothing but discourage yourself,

im mad at myself that i can't do some things with a knife or palm tool that i see here on the site,

for as long as i been whittling, at it, i should be a lot better than what i carve, but thats neither here or there,

what counts is remembering what you learn and keep in practice with your skills,

i took to many time off's in carving hobby,
only to find out i had to relearn the same thing over and over again,

then too as practice makes perfect always keep an eye out for new things, as you stretch yourself out of the comfort zone and do out of the box work its where you learn,

buy a new tool, makes incentive to learn different approaches to doing something a different way, sometimes quicker sometimes better than the old way,,

d0ont kick yourself too hard when things don't go right, figure out where you went wrong,, and do it again..
