Default “The Farrier”

Thanks to Lynn D. for the design,
Thanks to Lynn, Harold, Gerald, Phil, Vicki and everyone on this site for the inspiration and drive to do the best that we can.
Thanks to Wood Carving Illustrated for giving us a place to show our work.
The carving community is a very special group of people.
My Farrier stands 12” tall. The base is 8” diameter. I made the horse shoes out of 1/8” diameter brass rod. I made the bucket out of sheet metal, filled it half full of epoxy then dropped in a horse shoe. The tongs in his left hand are made from 1/8” brass rod. The stump, anvil, and Farrier are basswood. The base is cherry, basswood, the top piece was made from some of that clip together flooring that I had left over. Anyway I like my old Farrier, hope you guys do too…….Myron

That is a fantastic carving. Great detail. And the painting is very well done. Great job. Thank you for showing it to us. You are a great inspiration yourself.
