| Re: emil janel hobo .. Isnt he the best ? .. His work was one of a kind and his figures were a beautiful work in artistry .. It's hard to believe he would start out only with a block of wood on his lap and hold it between his knees and carve such beautiful pieces .. He was truly a master of his time with wood and thats why his pieces are worth so much today .. Its a great piece .. Thanks for informing us .. Gene

| Re: emil janel Yes guys Emil Janel beat 250 sculptors in stockholm at age 24 truly a master.caricature carving. Get real ? This is exaggerated realism folks. And in my book there is a big difference. I sure would like for woodcarving Illustrated to published a good article on Emil Janel he sure left some great carvings behind. thanks HOBO |
