Default Doin' the right thing

Looks like Billy Bob and Betty Lou have been spending a little bit too much time out behind the wood pile and Paw is gonna see that Billy does right by his favorite daughter........
This carving was inspired by a similar one done by Gene Messer a while ago. I used some patterns found in one of Mike Shiplys books for Ma, Pa, and Billy Bob. Betty Lou was carved from a pattern that Curtscarving used on one of his previous carvings (with some modifications ) and The preacher, well I guess I'll take responsibility for him.
The characters are from between 4-1/2" and 5" high, carved from basswood, painted with acrylics, and finished with BLO/burnt umber

Way to go Soggy,I have always kinda wanted to carve a hillbilly shotgun weddin'...maybe one of these days. I carve the ugliest women folk though...hmmm,might not be a bad time to start one of these. Keep up the great work.

Soggy,
I like what you did. I even noticed the turned foot of the groom - cool.
Now you got me thinking about doing a scene some day.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to look and coment. As always I enjoyed every minute of this one.
Alan : Neither one of the women folk in this carving could be accused of being pretty.........

A lot of really good carving in tht scene.....I especially like the preacher man (wish I could carve good arms in that position away from the body). A winner fer sure!
