| | Re: Dave Stetsons Lil Sheriff pattern I have that Stetson book also and refer to it quite often. It offers great information for the beginning caricature carver. He completes an entire caricature from band sawing out the pattern all the way to the finished product including painting. I would highly recommend it. He also has a lot of nice pictures that you can use as reference. I'm nowhere close to being as good as these guys, but I have a better understanding as to how you get from start to finish. Now I just need to learn to sharpen my tools.....eeshhhh!!!

| | Re: Dave Stetsons Lil Sheriff pattern Good job Dave , if you make it a little taller you can carve mices on the hat. I have carved this little guy 4 times cant't keep it on my shelf. the last 2 times i put the gun on the right side and it (because of the angle ) makes it a lot easier to carve. hey it looks like you are a few rocks short in your yard want me to send you some of ours .we have a hard time planting gardens they always die.just don't have a green thumb . we even planted a rock garden and three of the rocks died.
