Default "Darn, I Dropped The Remote!!"

Even though it's Labor Day I spent the time down at the shop finishing up this little repeat. Of course, I did take time to come up the hill long enough to upset some more people but that's normal for me. I did one similar to this several years ago. I had this horse setting on my workbench and couldn't match him up with a cowboy so thought of doing this scene again. It's a copy of a painting by Fred Harmon, the artist who drew Red Ryder called "Waiting on the Boss!" Of course I added a few things to flesh it out a bit and bring it up to date. I have no doubt whatsoever that somewhere down there south of the Oklahoma-Texas there is a outhouse that has a satellite hookup. Unfortunately for the fellow occupied inside it looks like his viewing will be limited cause I can just imagine where that remote fell and I bet he goes down to WalMart and buys a new one before searching too far inside that little room!

Anyway, hope you enjoy it and look forward to your comments and critiques.

Lynn, "Comment and critiques"! Well comments ok - I like it, I like to look at all of your carvings. Seldom do I see any others that are as well carved and finished as yours. But "critique"! I don't think so. I couldn't even spell it without lookin it up....Just keep on sharing your carvings and talent..Tom H

Absolutely great carving and painting Lynn ... Beside's the beauty of it .. The subject is funny ...

Your painting just amazes me .. it's so realistic ... yet has a caricature touch ..

Great job ..

Great one, Lynn. I love your horses. Even though they are caricatures they have great dignity. Your love of horses shines through.

It would be redundant to comment on the overall project as your carving and artistic abilities far surpass at least 90% of all the carvers on this forum.... but just for kicks and giggles how about sharing the secret to the fine detail that you apply with paint...i.e.... the Dish Network logo?
