| | Re: Current carving - yours I just finished "Hobo Ken" and got him entered in the Coconino County Fair for this weekend,in case anyone is going. Hoping for another blue ribbon. Currently working on "Brother Fibbs or Friar Liar", real simple. I carve Harold Enlows hillbilly face [a couple issues back, with round nose and big grin] on a 2x2x4 hunk of wood and made him look real guilty, then give him a monks body, with his hands behind his back holding a big chocochip cookie, or a glass of wine. I give his smock and hair a light wash of burnt umber, straight paint for the chips, and finish with BLO/burnt umber oil mix and paste wax to really make his bald head shine. I guarantee a some giggles.
Saw an old ceramic bar caddy last week that got the wheels turning. It was a Scotsman, drunk and fighting gravity by hanging onto a streetlamp. The way his arms, legs and kilt were splayed around the lamplight allowed room for holes in which to store bar tools upright.
I am thinking a chicken or big fat cook could be fashioned in a similar way to hold kitchen spoons or such. Hmmm, functional carving.
Have fun,
Jim |

You could alway take out an ad in the paper, wood chips for BBQ. Get your next years supply now. All Free just Pick (up) and Carry ( out) !
My idea for an automatic chip removal system
