Default Cowboy tack & gear

First – hope it was alright to post the following here. Wasn’t sure were it belonged.

I’m looking for a book that documents by illustration and/or photos cowboy tack and gear and wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction. It would be great if it included such things as batwing and shotgun chaps, spurs and spur straps, etc., and the other usual suspects. Would be good to have it in hardcopy for the workbench.

Off now to watch Lynn’s video on making a base for his cowboy boots where he uses a pony shoe for part of the base. Found ‘0’ & ‘1’ pony shoes locally but no nails. Finally located a Ferrier supply in Camp Verde, Arizona that stocks what I am looking for. Nice folks who responded to an e-mail suggesting that I use #3 Race nails to mount the shoes.

Thanks all for any input.

Pat

Cowboys & the trappings of the old west is a great book full of pictures of cowboys and everything they used and wore. I got mine on Ebay - cheap. I think I got lucky on one of those make an offer deals.

Hope this helped.

Thanks Terry. Sounds like what I'm looking for. I'll see if I can run a copy down.

For horseshoes and nails, I went to St. Croix forge. I'm sure they have a dealer in your area. Good luck.........Myron
