Great looking piece. The face has the rustic weathered look you would expect. Hat, beard and eyes look outstanding. Good work! Great looking avatar also ;O))

Thanks everyone. Your comments are much more valued than those of the 7th and 8th graders I teach who had first chance to see him. They all want to know what wood it is and will it break if they drop it. That question is followed by a pretend drop - another carving was dropped by Andrew who was trying to be funny - and then the look for teacher reaction. Not to many comments on the details of the carving. Then the last question - Can I have him? I correct the Can and say May. They repeat the qeustion - May I have him? Then I say NO, belongs to my wife. Ya got to have a shtick with 12-14 year olds.
