| | Re: CCA - "The Woodcarver" These carvers are pros and the quality of their work is not just their carving techniques but the ability to create unique expressions in wood. I admire their creativity. With a great deal of effort I may be able to carve a reasonable facsimili of their work but that is a far cry from having the creativity to create it in the first instance.

| | Re: CCA - "The Woodcarver" Ed,
The reason Marv's carvings sell so high (besides the obvious quality) is; he doesn't sell his carvings. He has nearly every carving he has ever done.
Marv does donate to charity and local (Faribault) government; and on rare occasions he will trade a carving.

| | Re: CCA - "The Woodcarver" Hey Plain Ol Ed I took a short course with Marv and even his chips on the floor looked better than mine did. Oh well guess I have something to aim for. oldbearx2 |

...I am working the project from Marv's book and so far so good, I am doing two busts at the same time so maybe some of his techniques will rub off on me (I can only hope...) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
