| | CCA Competition in Converse Hi All,
Just returned from CCA competition, Seminars and Classes in Converse, IN.
The Eastern Woodland Carvers Club could not have done a better job hosting the event. I thought you might like to see the 5 best of show carvings. I don't want to steal anyones thunder so I have only posted pictures of the five best. I am sure the CCA website will have the results posted shortly. Additionally I am not posting the winners names as I don't want to make any mistakes. This will at least give you an idea of the level of competition and perhaps provide a bit of inspiration !

| | Re: CCA Competition in Converse Hi Mitchell,
I'm not sure how many entries there were as these were the only ones on display along with carvings from individual members of CCA. To see that many CCA carvings in one place was great. Took quite a few pictures of my favorites. Had about 22 CCA members in attendance and got all to sign their new book. If you haven't seen it yet its worth the price. Quite inspirational to say the least!

| | Re: CCA Competition in Converse Great carvings and sounds like you had fun! The second picture which shows Santa and the two Cockerspaniels is some of the fine carving done by Sandy Smith from the Lakeview/Mountain Home, Arkansas area. Sandy is an officer and member of the North Arkansas Woodcarvers club in Mtn. Home. Congratulations to Sandy!

| | Re: CCA Competition in Converse I really need to try and attend one of these CCA shows/seminars. Is it no longer in Dollywood? Do they still have classes? I thought there was still a show at Dollywood or am I living in the past? |

| | Re: CCA Competition in Converse Makenchips,
The classes next year are to be held in Converse, IN again as I believe the competition is. Dollywood is currently undergoing a renovation of the park and tore down the buildings where CCA had the show and competiton. Dollywood does still host a woodcarving show only it is not the CCA show.
I am not sure how the competiton will be next year but this year the 5 best of show carvings were displayed with a large sampling of CCA members carvings. You might go to the CCA website and get the information first hand from one of the members by e-mailing one of them.
