Talking catalpa Little Guy

I just carved a little guy out of catalpa it was intended to be a whistle but the hole I drilled drifted so bad I cut his head off the whistle body and today while carving I started carving a bit on him and I gave him a short body. I could not carve his fingers as the catalpa doesn't hold detail like good old basswood so he has mittens "they are needed in MI now" its getting colder every day .. He stands 1-1/4 inches high...
