Default Carving A Cowboy's Horse - The Video Series

I've received a lot of requests to post a video series on carving a Cowboy's horse so I have just uploaded the first segment on on the Blog on how to lay out the basic block. This will be a long one so it will take some patience if you follow along. Should be fun though. I'll show you lots of shortcuts along the way to help you turn out a nifty cayuse.

Comments always welcome.

I'll have to watch this one to see all the things I did wrong. Will post pics of mine when I get the harness done. I can usually get the carving done but keep saying there is a better way to do this. I have used your method - cutting lengthwise down the middle - it makes carving the chest stomach and upper legs very easy.

Great project! Your attention to detail has inspired me to do the same in the my new pieces.
I'd cut off my back hoof to carve as well as you do
