Default Business Card Holder

Been carving alot of the cedar closet hangers lately and wanted to carve something different than ornaments. This is a easy and quick business card holder you can have on a table at shows or where ever you would like to.

The old fuzzy hillbilly is carved out of the cedar hanger and the base also. A 4 inch base and hes 5 1/8 inches tall. Course painted with acrylics. The card was one from a old man(a friend} that I will share a booth with next wk-end for a Christmas show in our town. I used it for it was near me,even thoug I have business cards.

Just showing how a simple projects is fun and easy to carve and your thoughts or comments are always welcome.thk' Forrest

Sharon,my wife works at a stone co. I have ben using a card holder I made out of stone, then got to thinking?? Duhhhhh carve you a card holder out of WOOD!! Easy and simple to do and if it helped you than it was well worth my time. Thanks for ckn it out and your nice thoughts alway. Forrest

P/S Get you a thicker tree branch, saw it into where you will have a flat bottem on it then cut you a nice slit/tunnel that some cards will fit in and woodspirits on both ends of it! I know you love found wood and your wood spirits are so nicely carved.

P/S/S I will not only pay my half of the booth rent at this Christmas show,Im sharing with this old friend next wk but after the show,I will give him this card holder also. That will make him smile~

Great job, looks great, bet people love it at shows too. Did a similar thing myself with a standing cowboy, he holds the cards in his hands, kids seem to like it anyway, they can touch it, and being on the table is usually about eye high. I will try to dig it up and get a pic of it posted.

Thanks Forrest! Great minds think alike! I was thinking along those lines also. Maybe a greenman. I was given a scroll saw not too long ago, so maybe cut some flower and leaf shapes out of it to go with the woodspirits or greenman.

LorenS ,Shoot yea theres so many things you can carved and make a card holder out of,Ive seem the hands holding cards, heck you could do a chicken pecking at the ground with your cards stuck in the chickens rump as feathers.
As for a card holder that tall,I would wont to waste that much space in my booth or it on my table plus children are just that,I loved and rasied my three and they didnt touch things at art shows but alot will and I dont like even adults touching or pulling on something like any of my carving in my booth, course you buy it then its yours to touch or even kiss. Shoot yea, post some picts of your cowboy card holder and thanks for your neat input here. Forrest

Great idea. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for a card holder for someone who works in a bank? My wife is the Branch Manager at a bank and I can use this as a way of showing her where my money goes when I buy new tools. LOL
