I really admire how well you carve ....and how fast you crank them out..amazing
.........But.......what really catches my eye is how well you present the carving....and the way you come up with ways nobody else uses or does for detail........ glasses....umbrella's....horse shoes on base...list goes on and on.
I really like the idea for these bottle stoppers really catches your eye......I know I still owe you a Mexican dinner.......looks like I'm going to owe you two .........because I'm going to ......copy your idea for my bottle stopper heads........ I looked on google to find a Mexican Restaurant near you and get a gift certificate and send it to you..........But ......Dang... Taco Bell don't have gift certificates......

Only question I have is what purpose do they serve? It's custom in these parts that once a bottle is opened, it's emptied!
They are a bit shiney .... maybe a little blo would help. |

| | Re: Brushpoppers - How To Make a Out West Bottlestopper! Jim...You owe me nothing. Your appreciation of my work is payment enough for me. And thanks for those comments about doing things a little different than the others as for me that's whats really important and hopefully always will make my efforts easily recognizable as being mine. |

| | Re: Brushpoppers - How To Make a Out West Bottlestopper! Lynn, I was wondering (if you don't mind the question) what kind of wood do you use for your carvings and where you do buy it from. It just looks like it would carve like butter.
Thanks. |

| | Re: Brushpoppers - How To Make a Out West Bottlestopper! Nice work Lynn. I do like the home made rig for the bottles. I am always talking to my JR High students about doing things on their own, trying things without spending a ton of their folk's money on it. Good example here.

| | Re: Brushpoppers - How To Make a Out West Bottlestopper! I just use basswood like the rest of you master carvers on this forum. Heineke has the best as far as I'm concerned. |
