Having seen them in person...well...I wouldn't even attempt to photograph the pieces myself. Dylan, are you home yet???? Did you get any good photos????

The pieces were stunning...We've seen the Archer and the Chelloist, but the Best of Show (sorry, Fred, not sure of the name) was incredible!

Thank you all - I am really happy about the winnings.
And a big thank you to Andy.

Here are some pictures of the pieces I put in the competition - the Archer (placed 3rd).

You already know the Cellist (she placed 2nd), pictures of her are in the gallery.

The new carving is called "Ready to Fly" - the idea behind it is flying; at all times through history people wanted to fly, this one wants to try so much that he made his suit to resemble a bird as close as possible. Now, standing on a rock (and nobody knows how high) he has already decided to jump - but somewhere in his mind there is a doubt - what if it does not work?

There is a couple of pictures showing clay model with the carving in progress, a couple of pictures after bleaching - the hands, face and wings are bleached - the only paint I used is a little bit of brown oil paint on the stripes holding his wings, stain is used on the whole carving.

I will also add the pictures in bigger sizes to carvers gallery.

Thanks again,
Fred
