Sorry I haven't answered any of you but was away at the hospital. Mother-in-law had a heart attack. Doing as good as can be and will recovery so the doctors say.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I greatly appreciate them. Have serveral more carvings completed and painted so will show them when I get caught up around here. But by then, I will be so old my fingers won't be able to type. hehehhehehe

Hi Ho, that is a "fireman's pike pole". Many different configurations but a pike pole none the less. Anyways, that is the pike pole the gentleman used that this was for.

To those that ask. Yes, there will be a number on the hat , the gentleman's number he had for 50 years of service to the Fire Department.
Plus a mediallion will be on the base that this piece will set on.

Kenny, glad your back, you were missed. Sorry to hear of your mother-in-laws heart attack. Will keep good thoughts and prayers for a successful recovery for her.
