Default Another Elf

First 1 piece Carving. No Glue. Basswood 7.0"x3.5", finished BLO,Acrylic Paint Wash, Colored Pencil for Hair and Beard,(Red), Don't know if you can see the red. Dark Watco Wax,Poly U , Feed N Wax. Merle

Merle, looks to me like you bought Marks elf tutorial, super carving for sure. That is without a doubt, the best tutorial I've seen so far and I have about 12 of them. If a person can't carve good eyes after seeing that DVD then they ar definitely in the wrong hobby.

Just looking at the picture made me feel like I had actually walked up on him in the forest. Nice, realistic, and enchanting... especially like the Spock-like ears. Nice work!

Thank you, everyone glad you liked him. Yes it is Mark G's DVD, But mine never looks like Marks. Maybe someday I'll get just 1. I used colored pencil on the Hair and Beard, it's Red can you see the red? I can't. I would like to try different expressions and see how that turns out. Thanks for all your nice comments. Merle

Nice one Merle! Feed N Wax was put over the Poly U? I've heard of Feed N Wax, and would like to try it. Hard to find around here without ordering it online same with the Watco Dark Wax. I have the neutral, anyway your Elf is fantastic and the eyes have so much life in them. Super coloring job.
