Default Another bottlestopper

I was sitting in my office taking a "think break", and was going over the bottle stoppers I've done - the full-sized ones. I have a London Bobby for a gin bottle, my Mexican peon for a tequila bottle, the old cowboy for the bourbon bottle, and I did a Scot for a friend's scotch bottle. I realized I hadn't done a bottle stopper for a vodka bottle yet. A bit of research (isn't Google Image Search wonderful!!) and I had a photo. The result is below. You can just barely make it out in the side view, but the top of his hat is painted to look like the maroon silk top on the sheepskin hat that many cossacks wore. I like them claude! You could probably find a market for these fairly easily! Thanks for sharing him with us! By the way, where do you get your corks for your bottlestoppers?

Real nice Claude, haven't seen any thing like it. Now you'll have to make a coke head for us soda drinkers. feb

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Blake, I know you asked Claude, but I'll tell you a local place to buy. Would you believe, Lowes? Bought some not long ago.

Thanks, all, for the nice comments.

Blake:
Some of the corks I've bought from Woodcraft. This particular one I just took a cork from a bottle of wine, bored it out with a forstner bit, glued in a 3/8 dowel, chucked the dowel in my drill press and held a sanding block against it to get the taper. I start with 120 grit paper and then 220 grit paper to smooth out the cork.
