| | 5 Min Wizard... Sort Of.... Well I set out this morning to practice doing those little wizards that Tom did. I grabbed a 1 x 1 stick and was going to do a bunch of the eye / nose step and I got a good one right away .. next thing I knew it was kind of going a different direction. I don't know what you call it, a Wizard, Old World Santa or whatever and not sure how I will paint it but I am thinking Santa. Anyway, thanks for looking and Tom, thanks for your article and the help!

| | Re: 5 Min Wizard... Sort Of.... Corey, Call that piece anything you want too, it's a very nice carving. The point is, that you tried it and it came out very well. Be sure to post the carving after it gets some finish on it.
I think that you can probably see how you can take the face on this subject to a next level of detail. After you are comfortable with carving these features on the Wizard/Santa try carving some of the details. It seems to be a good launching pad for the next level.
Ya did good, thanks for sharing...Now lets see more...

| | Re: 5 Min Wizard... Sort Of.... Thanks all. It was a lot of fun... it's not what I set out to do but I like it. It's kind of a cumulation of what I learned from Tom and what I have learned from Gene and a whole lot of other people in between. I have it all painted up and it's drying. I will take some pics tomorrow. Thanks for taking a look see!
