Default scroll wood blanks

Can anyone give me some companys that sell wide scroll saw wood . 1/4' x 12' x 12' is the size I really need in most hardwoods. Most companys seem to have only 6'-8' wide or plywood. Thanks

Roy, if you do not want to use plywood you are much better off gluing up you own blanks by far. First you can glue any size you want. Second you get a more stable blank. Wide boards especially that wide will cup and bow no matter what spicies it is. There are very few types of wood that wide anyway. If you use 1/4 sawn lumber you will even take out more of the cupping. To glue a blank all you need is good carpenters glue, clamps, and a way of sawing good glue joints on the edges of the boards. Today you can get a good glue joint using a good table saw blade or if you have a jointer that is the best way. Good luck JTTHECLOCKMAN

Roy, You can get wide wood blanks for scrolling from Heritage Building specialists. Their Web site is http://www.heritagewood.com. The come in sizes 12x12, 12x16 and 12x20 and they have lots of different species of wood.

Wildwood designs has the wood you looking for, but some of it cost a fortune. Best glue up your own.

I can't remember now where I bought mine, but am sure it was either 'Scroller, Cherry Tree, Wildwood or Winfield' a neighbor bought a lot and of all kinds of different hardwoods...I will have to come back and modify this after I find the site!
