i learned that sports wrap sold at walmart, is the same stuff they sell other places called veltrap. its also the same stuff technitions put over your puncture when they do work blood from you in hospital or labs

its a great thumb wrap by its self 4 layers or more, its not totaly cut proof i put a leather scrap against my thumb then wrap it with veltrap.. its not sticky it sticks to its self only, but if you make thumbstalls out of it with very loose pressure you can reuse them,,,

i've been wanting to try some of that tape myself seems you could use it on your lever thumb to keep it from getting sore i don't know about anybody else but i do alot of them lever type cuts and it sure can wear on that thumb

lever cuts are the most common that i make, it makes more logic to be able to control the cut this way. slow steady pressure, and when the blade starts to move you can let off a little pressure with your thumb easier than your whole arm...
the only drawback to using veltrap dose get a little rubber glue kind of tacky feel to it after you get it warm but no residue comes off, if it gets that way i roll it in sawdust or baby powder it...

i also incorporate a leather scrap in the veltrap to take the brunt of a cut if im too aggressive
