Default Wooden sword.

I carved this to night, what finish should I use? It will be sold as a toy in a locale wood shop.
It is about 24" long.

Well... I like the color of wood. But my six year old would say paint it silver and red and blue.

As a toy, I think I would paint the blade silver, the cross-piece gold and dark stain the hilt.

Nice looking piece no matter how you finish it!

That's a great looking project! If it were me I wouldn't paint it at all, unless of course I had a specific request. (-:

I will probably paint it, most kids do not care about the wood.
