I recently started carving again. I decided to buy Beginner's carving tools for small projects and to save money. I purchased from Woodcraft. Buy Beginner's Carving Tools, Beginner's Carving Tools, Carving Tool Sets & The tools were clearly marked "Woodcraft" and yet my tools were marked "Ramelson USA" The tools seem to be of good quality and sharp. Did I get a good deal or should I make an issue over the name brand? This is my first post and hate to start by complaining but is it right to switch brands without notifying the customer first? |

Made by Ramelson and Marketed by Woodcraft. It's not uncommon and really shouldn't be an issue.

If you bought that set from somewhere else, they run about $9 per tool, so I'd say the price was about right.

For the money, Ramelson's are about as good a bargain as there is imo. Good tools and they come sharp!

I hope they work out for you. I bought a set of their micro palm tools. Some of the blades were badly damaged straight out of the package. some of them had the shank so loose in the handle that they could easily be pulled out with my thumb and index finger.....Anyway I hope your happy with your purchase. Name brands don't matter, only performance. Welcome back to carving.
