This sounds like exactly what I am looking for only in So. Cal. Is there anyone that can advise me of a nice club in the Huntington Beach area? Thanks, and I hope I didn't hijack this thread. Ray |

Charlie: Thanks for posting the info. I'm in Virginia, but I think it's great that you've provided the info so beginners can see it. Claude |

It would be helpful is there was a current list of clubs, services and contacts. Listing times of meetings as well as location address and directions as well as libraries and classes. Colwood woodburners has a listing but I have been told some of the contacts are not accurate, changes over time and not reported to them by club members. Woodburning Tools by Colwood: Carving Clubs You can go to their site and see quite a large listing , some outside the US. WCI has an excellent listing to. Woodcarving Illustrated - Club Search enter the state or country and you get a complete list. This is found under WCI Community at left, Carving Clubs. It would be great if there were directions and a short list of services. I visited the Flint Ridge Woodcarvers yesterday in OK as part of a two day get together. I live about an hour from them and was not awair they existed. We all had a good visit and some carving. Lynn Doughty was there and carved an Indian head in a couple of hours, pausing to offer helpful hints. He brought 2 of his latest carvings for us to view. If we were better awair clubs we could communicate better and network offering classes and just plain get togethers. Charlie

Here is an idea. We are starting in January or February (weather permitting) a quarterly get together of area carving clubs. Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas will host the first one here in Rogers at our Foxfire building. It will consist of just carving, visiting, eating a chili lunch and visiting some more over a cup of coffee. I will be in touch closer to the date(to be set yet) with clubs in Tulsa to Mountainhome to Springfield MO and all in between. If you are intrested in comming please send me an email and I will get you on the email list. After the first one we will be looking for volenteer clubs for the next 3. I visited with those who came to our show last week and got a great response. This would be a 9 to 4 get to gether on a Saturday and you can leave when you need to. 1/2 day or the whole shebang. I think it will be great fun visiting with area carvers, shareing tips and general story telling. Charlie

| Carve in at Foxfire, Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas, Rogers, AR The dates are set for January 14, 2012 with a weather delay date for Saturday, February 11. Gather from 9 am to 4 pm. Lunch at 12. Feel free to drop in anytime as it is a get acquainted and sharing time and has no specific starting time. In the event we need to cancel the January date, we will email each of you on my list, a day before, as we watch the weather. Pass the word around, I will do reminder emails each month and the week before the carve in. Because we have planned on having a Chili lunch we need to know if you plan on attending so we can get a count for the food. Also it has been suggested that it be a pot luck, so, if you want to bring chili or another selection please let me know that also. I have no idea of how many to expect, because this is the first meeting, but we can handle 35 or so at Foxfire, if the group gets larger we may have to move it to a larger site. This is your opportunity to get to know neighboring carvers in other clubs and share stories, jokes, techniques and tools or just about anything. Directions will be included later in later emails. Feedback is appreciated! If you wish to be placed on the email list please email me and I will add you to the list. Carve on! Charlie

I have set up a map on my web. http://charleswolfe.weebly.com/carve...tion-page.html For Flint Ridge go to this site http://charleswolfe.weebly.com/flint...-carve-in.html Tried to email one to those who I have addresses, but the type was too small to really read. So inovation was the choice. Googal to the rescue. Map works like any other Googal map. Charlie
