Question Woodburner for Feather Details On Decoys

What is the best woodburner for a beginner seeking to create better detailing in feathers?

I don't do much feather detail but there are other carvers here that do.

I bought a Razertip SS-D10 at the end of my first year carving and have been very pleased with it.

I have 5 pens and find that I use the "HD Small Curved Spear" the most, it will make very thin or small detail.

I Have done feather detail for a number of years. I use a Nibs rheostat and made the conversion to Razertip pens a few years ago. I probably have 8-10 fixed tip pens that I use. I use the small tight round and a small skew more than any other. Razertip has a new line out, called Feather Formers, I have read their material, but haven't ordered any of them to date.

I think you will find many different opinions and they will all be goods. It's just a matter of what will fit your needs and your budget. Good Luck.

I've been using a Razertip unit with fixed pens for several years. Great product, no problems. I see no need to get anything else.
