I think that I herd somewhere that balsa wood it the strongest wood when it comes to the weight of the wood vs the weight it can hold.

Al, I think you brought up a small problem that we carvers encounter. That's the difference between a softwood and a soft wood or a hardwood and a hard wood and then let's add the hardwoods that are soft woods ... ![]() AHHH! Big Grin! How many times have I tripped over my typing fingers trying to explain that basswood is a hardwood that is a soft wood to carve. Susan Irish |
