Sorry, Brad, but galvanized steel did not exist when plate armor was popular. It was all made of polished iron, some of which was steeled (decarburized). Galvanizing is the application of zinc to the surface and does not take polishing like iron or steel.

OK, now look at what you guys went and did!! I went to search about chain mail/mail/maille and now I have ANOTHER hobby that is taking time away from my carving!! (At least I'll look cool at the ren-fair Â* )

Hi,
I also have been stuck a few times and at the hospital. I now make sure my tool is sharp and have slowed down.... Less bleeding and more fun now.
