Default Totem Poles for Kids

I am trying to find a totem pole kit that a beginning Boy Scout could carve, or materials to put one together. I envision something that would stand about a foot high. We added three new totem poles to the parade field and the younger scouts especially will be excited by them. We teach Woodcarving Merit badge so it would be a project that could easily vary in difficulty with the ability of the carver. Does anyone know of a kit or similar project? Or have advice if I put them together from scratch?

Thanks in advance

recently here a group were doing a mini freindship cane. each carver would carve one head (X times) and share them with the others-- all to slide together on a dowel stick. could u do something similar with your scouts-- each one carving one "head" in the totem. for a pattern id do a google search for totem poles. im sure that you have a carver in the area that would be willing to help with the idea or patterns. i know if you were in the KC area we could get this done.
