Default Thanks Folks !

I came on here a while back and asked questions about carving driftwood.

I got several answers but most directed me towards www.littleshavers.com

I ordered the beginners kit from them and my wife gave it to me for Christmas.

Due to my kids wedding and some other things I didn't get to do any carving with it until after the first of the year but now have used most of the tools some.

All I can say is WOW ... this is miles beyond my Old Timer pocketknife.

The talent isn't there yet but I have some sho nuff fine tools to work with.

Thanks for the lead to this company and their fine tools.

I'm just gonna carve away the wood covering whatever is in these pieces of driftwood.

Probably faces and such.

A suggestion is to use a kinfe or a draw knife on the bark first, to get it down to the softer bark as that outer bark probably has dirt in the grooves that will dull your tools fast. Just a suggestion. Don't ask me how I know!

I'm sure you were cautioned in the other posts that driftwood can hold alot of abrasive sand,,dulls those new beauties real quick, just a word of caution,,,have fun carvin.
