Jamesfa: Remember, I said I put this on spoons and spatulas I expect to use nearly every day, and with my own, I cook with olive oil, so I figured I might as well use the oil to treat the wood. If I was making a Celtic spoon, for example, to hang on a wall, I'd likely varnish it. I didn't mention earlier, but I wash my spoons/spatulas with soap and hot water, but I never put them in the dishwasher. I've had purchased wooden spoons crack from being put in the dishwasher, so I keep mine out of it now. Claude |
