Default Spatulas

I came across a packet of spatulas, at a Army Surplus store. One. Nicer surplus store than I usually vist. Knife like blades and spear points on the ends. The are not Rifflers as there isn't any file markings. May be some sort of scrapers.

Does anyone know anything about these. I took them out one at a time and stropped them and they are sharp and I am using them to get in to fine places.

Thought I saw them in Woodcrafts or Grizzly's new catalog but can't find them now. Anyway,Just wanted to know what they were for for real instead of what I am using them for.

The package looks the same as a riffler package.

Sounds like clay sculpting tools, but that is just a guess.

Thanks ALA for the reply. I thought that also. However, They are stainless steel and stroping them took a little time , The package said spayutlas but First time I have seen these at an Army Surplus store. I will admit that they were with scaples and twizzers in the same type of packaging. Very well could be used for clay sculpturing. I will go back in to all the catalogs and see if I can find these tools. Anyway, They do work nicely in carving, just a little hard to hold with uncle author hands.
Thanks again

ALA, Found the spatulas in the new Grizzly's 2004 catalog on page 204. They are similar to what I have but not quite the same. It does state,' Scraping and shaping different media'. Sooooo looks like you are correct. Now, I need to go back and ask the Surplus store owner how he came across these and did He know what they were for. I saw them and thought they could be used in carving.

Thanks for your input.
