Talking The Snowman and his kids, and companion for Oskar

The snowman is based on Mr. Claude Freaner's pattern on page 71 of WCI's Holiday Issue 2010 (Issue No. 53), carved from three pieces of 2" x 2" x 2" basswood. I've drilled holes on the body sides and face for sticking the hands and nose in, but I've glued the 2 body parts and the head together instead. The kids are carved from 3/4" x 3/4" x 3" jelutong sticks. Whiling carving the kids my wife asked me to carve a snowgirl. Not knowing how a snowgirl should look like and being short on imagination I end up with my version (see first figure on right side of thumbnail pic) - the hair is supposed to be made from straw/hay.

I've also carved a companion for Oskar (posted pic of Oskar quite awhile back). Actually I started out carving "Thea" from the book "Whittling Little Folks" but couldn't get her face right after many oops and yikes.

Thanks for looking.

Ezzy
