I may still be a slow learner, but with the information, direction, and suggestions that have been given I will be learning and improving. All any new member to this board needs to see are the responses to my post, to appreciate how special this board and its members really are. Thank you..Tom H

Some really good suggestions here Tom.
I agree on some of the suggestion but the main thing is carve what you want to carve whelther it is upside down or right side up.
Use whatever, a piece of wood, a blank a roughout. Watch your progree, take pictures, compare the last piece with the one you just finished.
Others see the improvements even if you don't.
keep on Keeping on. You can create your own stlye no matter what you use.

Think im one of the short bus riders myself, i cant get the eyes right myself, usually filling my mistakes with wood glue or superglue jel then paint over the mess lately
mainlt becuse im practicing my mistakes...
