If you click on the links they appear to be tie slides like the ties boy scouts wear. I suppose they could be used for a napkin ring also. Hope this helps?

Just to get nomenclature correct these are neckerchief slides worn by boy scouts. They are sometiems called woggles.
I used to carve my own when I was a scout in the 1960's. The magazine Boy's Life had a monthly column by Whittlin' Jim that featured a new slide to carve. I think I did about 10 or so. I sure wish I still had them. Google Whittlin Jim or woggles for more info and ideas.
Hope this helps.

Neckerchief slides can be fun - a form of whittling. Here is a photo of several dozen I carved while a Scoutmaster in the 60's. Most were designed to commemorate a specific event such as a weeklong backpack trip.

Phil, I guess you can make them simple or intricate. You seem to have mastered both.

Patty, Glad to help.

The Japanese version, although not worn like a bolo tie, is the Netsuke. I read up on these and find them fascinating. Check out this site for some more details.
