Default Simple, quick carving, ideas

Anyone have or know of carving ideas/plans for simple and quick little carvings? Interested in similiar carving ideas/patterns to the 5 minute owl. Need some ideas that can be carved quick and then given to the kids/folks who are interested. Quick demonstration type stuff. Thanks, Tom H

Try cutting out some "flint arrowhead" blanks from 1/4" or 3/8" clear pine or basswood. You can whittle a very convincing flint appearance on these in a few minutes. I've done quite a few of these in the past but don't have nay around right now.

I whipped out an acorn yesterday just fooling around....they make a pretty good christmas ornament too. Go to littleshavers, Rick has some free patterns there.

I stold lynn droughtys idea of his turtles in the scene where the boat was overturned by the moose. for my grandson to tell me what else the carving needed, and he a 3 year year old told me turtle needs eyes paw paw.

took very little time to carve a turtle, out of scrap, but could be done as easily ftom 1x2x3"
suggest to carve the head on corner and tail on other, lobb off the other 2 corners and carve demention to the shell, easily done in 5 minuets, the profile is of a turtle half sumerged so no problem with them pesky leggs
...link to lynns close up turtles but i remember unpainted picture
