I tried piping on a sub once, but all that came out were bubbles! Oops, we were submerged at the time!! Ya, they still use those old "Spithead Nightengales" in our Navy, Canadian Navy. We didn't have to share bunks though. You should see a bunch of teen-aged girls "jump", early in the morning after a sleepover, if you use a bosuns pipe to pipe "Wake-a-wakee!" (It's a very loud, piercing, high pitched, twirling "pipe" used to wake up the ships company at sea or in harbour.) It works! My daughters still haven't forgiven me!!!

BobD....I'm looking forward to seeing what you have done with the article. I've been resting lots, so fire away any questions that you may have.

Hey guys, thanks for all the posts!

I was able to find Ship Models: How to Build Them from Charles Davis for 4$ on Amazon, so I have it on order now. I have also been poking family members about my upcoming birthday and been giving them names of books to get me, they are all happy because i never ask for anything and it makes them all nuts.

Charles Davis comes in on Teusday! can't wait to get reading!
I should go set up my workshop agian whilest i wait.

Jody

Good for you! Lots of ideas for birthdays now:tools, wood, books, plans, etc.

Good luck getting started, sing out whenever you need help.
