Hi All, I bought a couple of back issues of WCI and have noticed the patterns that are included at the end of each project are usually the finished carving vice the rough out. Should I just add a 1/4 inch around the actual finished pattern to get a rough out or should I trace the pattern exactly as printed? Thanks in advance for any answers. //bluegoose// |

I'd leave some room for errors... You can always get rid of the excess, but it's not so easy to do the reverse.

I agree with TDF, or use as is. I have used patterns as is, then change the carving as I go to make it mine. No errors just design changes. ![]() Dave |

Whenever making a cutout it's always better to leave a little extra wood.
