Default Re: Question on carving tool

Hi all,
Haven't had the chance to come back to the forum last couple days because of finals and all (and I don't carve all the time, it's a hobby that I don't want to have to push myself to do just to get better and then get sick of it because I had to push myself to do it. Hey I'm young =/).

Just want to thank Plain O Ed and William for answering the specific questions of mine on how to make the U indentation (profile?) with a knife (I can't, rather that), and how to detail that mane and what tool would go best for the piece I'm working on.

I do much appreciate others' general talk of experience and how to generally improve one's carving/whittling skills as well. I think I've decide that I'll need a needle-file as well as a couple gouges; and then I'll practice my knife-work more to see if I could do some stuff without the gouges.

Thanks!
