Doug,

How can I go about obtaining a copy of this tutorial as well? I have a neighbor who wants to get into power carving, but he hasn't been able to find any good books on the topic, and the only internet access he has is through me.

Terry, I have a couple of tutorials on my web page, Carving a common Red Poll, and one on Carving the Northern saw Whet Owl. You might find them helpful.

Doug,

Thanks for sending me the tutorial. As I am still waiting on my foredom and no brand grinder to arrive. I am reading everything I can find

As you can tell from my handle, I will be carving tiki totems initially then maybe try some other stuff.

Mark

No problem, Mark. All I ask is if you actually do a Cypress knee Santa using the tutorial that you post a pic so I can see if it helped you.

Terry-- Tell your neighbor to look for power carving books by Frank Russell published by Fox Chapel. I believe he will get some pretty good info there.
