Default Posting pictures on Picturetrail

Hi Guys,
Here's a question for you expert picture posters. I've not done that, but my daughter will be here this week with her digital camera and I'd like to finally be able to post a few pictures of my carvings. I don't have a clue how to go about it and you are all so good to share your experience to save others the embarrassment of failure!!

Step by step advice? It will be appreciated.

Thanks
Donna T

OK, Donna, here goes....as best as I can!~ Â*First get your pictures onto your hard drive in whatever manner your camera and associated software allow. Â*Make sure to NAME your photos. Then be sure to store them as .jpg files or they will take forever to load. Remember where they are stored.

Now, go to www.picturetrail.com and log into 'carvers-R-us' and use the password 'carve' to get logged on. Â*Once there, on the main page look over to the upper left and see a list of options. Â*One of them will be 'upload pics' or something similar. Â*Click on this one and it will bring up the upload page. Â*It may ask you to download some software in order to upload up to five photos. Â*Go ahead and do it.....it takes a few minutes, but not much. Â*Once that is done a new screen will come up with five 'browse' boxes. Â*Click on one of them and find the file where your pictures are stored......remember, I told you to remember this? Â*Now click on the file name of the picture you want to upload, and it will be transferred into the 'browse' box. Â*Go down to the next 'browse' box and do the same......ditto for the remaining 'browse' boxes, or as many of the five that you want to use.

When that's done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and there find an 'Upload Now' box. Â*Click on this once and then wait for an interminably long time while the photos upload.

They will go directly into an 'IN BOX'. Â*Go there and pick the folder you want to transfer your first photo into. Â*Click on the transfer button and waiit, another screen will come up asking the title of you photo and description. Â*Fill these out, pick a frame for your picture and hit transfer. Â*The photo will be placed in the folder you chose. Â*Do the same with the rest of your photos. Â*When done, it should say that the 'in box' is empty, unless you or someone elkse has left a photo or two in there.

That's it......simple once you do it a couple times.

Al

Thanks Al,
I've printed off your instructions so hope to have success with a few carvings posted by this time next week.
We'll see how techno savy we can learn to be....
I appreciate your help.

Hi Ho, those drawings I sent you of the heron was of the short-necked variant. They are quite rare and from what I understand, quite often play center in the local Birds' Football League! The BFL, northern conference! Only six teams, the Owls, Hawks, Eagles, Herring Gulls, Canada Geese, and Ptarmigans.

Al,
Are their games on this weekend? Do they play with a wing and prayer? Any fowl play?

Hi HO,
Maybe a 1/2 dozen necks will make a 'mess.' The painting of the heron is the hardest part--but isn't that usually true with most of what we carve. At least it gives you several versions of necks to use. Getting the little crook in the neck is important. Hope you can tell a bit more from the pictures.

Feels like we're coming down to the wire in trying to get carvings finished for the holidays. Maybe in January we can get around to trying some of the things we've put off all summer.

Hi guys...Got me a digital camera for Christmas and I'm slowly getting familiar with all the functions.
As I hope to put a pic. or two on the pic. trail sometime in the future, I've saved the above instructions and would like to thank Al for the post. Hope I can bother some of you later if I get hung up.
As soon as I get this dang thing figured out I'll give it a try. (still haven't figured out how to program our VCR, so you get the idea :)
