Like minds, here in VA, Michael! Attached are the last two of the eight I carved to give away this Christmas. I gave one of them to the next door neighbor and she gave me a copy of "Cyndi Joslyn-Carhart's book Carving Santas From Around The World". What a coincidence - same author of the patterns! I decided not to put the little leaves and stuff on the hat - I prefer it plain.

Naturally, I had to try one of the patterns in the book; carving also attached - and my wife said she liked the Cosmic Santa. Not painted yet, but that'll happen this weekend, I hope. We'll have to compare efforts at Woodcraft some evening.

Claude

Super Job, Claude and Michael! I never saw the appeal of Santa Carving until I found an old copy of Ron Ransom's book. Got me hooked but good. I am still putting the finishing touches on one of the Santa's in Shawn Cipa's new book, the one holding the Christmas Tree. Gotta clean up the fuzzies and get it painted. I hoped I could finish it before Christmas 2005 but it looks like it will be early for Christmas 2006! I am still working on a Nativity set from 2 years ago, too!
